Chairman’s Message

Emirates Foundation was established in April 2005 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and the meticulous direction of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Built around the vision of establishing a leading institution in the field of social welfare and carrying forward the philanthropic legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE, Emirates Foundation set out to empower individuals and institutions to articulate their social responsibility and give back to the community. Since 2005, Emirates Foundation has continued to achieve these aims by encouraging public and private sector partnerships and through initiating successful community-oriented projects.

The New National Initiative

We are now moving towards a new future for Emirates Foundation, with a new direction and a new corporate identity. Our aim is to make a positive contribution to the UAE society.
Based on our conviction that the youth plays a vital role in community development and is the future of the country, we have made a conscious decision to position the youth as our primary focus and we are now launching an integrated national initiative that invests in the UAE youth.

The new model will focus on three main areas:

Sustainability

Ensuring that the initiatives funded initially by the Foundation mature into self-sustaining entities that can survive long after the foundation exits

Collaboration

Building long-term partnerships with the private sector, related authorities, imitations and stakeholders

Impact

Ensuring long-term sustainable development outcomes that are tangible and measurable.

We have also supported and financed social non-profit institutions and initiatives to protect and maintain the unique Emiratis environment and have launched public awareness campaigns on various issues of concern to the community.

We aim to move away from providing short term individuals and challenges facing young people in the UAE and help them to reach their potential. It will also work with business to ensure that the private sector is able to deliver a social return through its social investment initiatives.

We ask them to continue their generous contributions and remain committed towards their social responsibility. I am confident that together we can achieve our noble cause and make an impactful difference.

The change to Emirates Foundation are not limited to the name and logo but mark a radical shift reiterating our focus on social investment in young people.

Together we reaffirm our commitment to make a difference.
